Sow gestation crates are conducive to sows' fetus preservation, realizing quantitative feeding and avoiding feeding competition and biting among pregnant sows. The feeding, drinking and water and feces cleaning systems are concentrated with small area, little sewage production, thus realizing mechanized management.

The adoption of overall hot-dip galvanizing process assures the pen's service life in 10 years without rust. After being welded and formed, the pens are immersed in molten zinc water. Each part of the pens is covered by zinc layer, solving the problem of galvanized pipe welds lacking zinc layer.
Gestation stalls covers little construction area, reducing construction cost. It is convenient to manage sows without fighting or playing. According to the growth characteristics of pigs, feeding can be added or restricted appropriately to facilitate pigs' epidemic prevention and improve production management efficiency. It can help observation of estrus and breeding, facilitating insemination or interbreeding, increasing fertilization rate, avoiding mutual interference and reducing mechanical abortion. So it is widely adopted, especially for sows mating to the early 5 week before gestation.
